Last week the students from P-3 were very lucky to go on an overnight camp to Melbourne. We were very busy visiting many of Melbourne’s highlights including the Imax Theatre, The Museum, The Eureka Skydeck and The Aquarium. A fantastic time was had by all, and a very big thank you to all our parents that came along to help out!

If you were offered a seat on the next space shuttle would you go? Explain why or why not.
If I was offered a free seat on the next space shuttle, I would not take it. I wouldn’t take it because something might go wrong with the shuttle. Or someone might get sick and they might be important. It would be a good experience but you wouldn’t get much sleep.

The Astronaut
Today we went to Charles Sturt University in Albury to meet an astronaut. Her name was Megan McArthur. While we were waiting Miss G said that Megan was still in space, but she was kidding. But anyway it was good and we got to watch a movie of them fixing the Hubble Telescope. While we were watching the movie I saw them floating in space. After that we got to ask questions. Then we went back to school and that was the end of our excursion.

Excursion to meet Megan McArthur
On Wednesday the 19th of August the 2-6 went to see the astronaut, her name was Megan McArthur. Megan had been in space for 12 days. In space she was controlling the robotic arm, Megan’s dad worked at the Navy base. Megan was the only girl to go on the mission to fix the Hubble telescope. While we were there she answered some of our questions. In space there was little gravity and it made it hard to do things. I liked the excursion very much.

My trip to Melbourne
On Saturday I went to Melbourne and I played football on the MCG. I kicked 2 goals and 2 points and I took 2 marks. My team won. After the auskickers went off the ground the big AFL footballers came on. After the Collingwood and Richmond game we saw Dale Thomas and Dane Swan.
